The International Fiscal Association (IFA) is the world’s only non-governmental and nonsectoral international organisation dealing with fiscal (tax) matters. There are over 12,800 members of the Association. Headquartered in Rotterdam, IFA provides, in conjunction with the activities of each country branch, a blend of comprehensive research on international taxation and the development of programmes and initiatives of current practical importance.
The Association has particularly close relationships with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), its sister organisation, the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) and the European Commission.
As the economies of the world are increasingly becoming more interdependent, international tax issues have become more numerous and of greater importance. Each year IFA convenes at a selected internationally recognised destination for its Annual Congress. The Congress provides an opportunity for an exchange of knowledge and experience with respect to international tax law. On each occasion delegates have the opportunity to make useful contacts in the tax field both as part of the official programme as well as in private networking events. IFA is proud to be unique in bringing together tax experts from governments, academia, corporations and advisors.
